NX23 caboose in HO scale

This unique steel frame wood side caboose was a common site on the Pennsylvania Rail Road during WWII.  With its unique style and design it is sure to stand out.  Modeled with the vertical siding used on the cars before rebuild.  This car was hastily converted from an x23 box car when WWII started.  The need for more cabooses and the lack of steel due to the war effort forced the Prr to reuse box cars.  They added port hole windows, car end doors, and a copula on the side of the car.  Some got a full rebuild while others just got the conversion pieces.  This car has the vertical siding still and is the style with just the conversion pieces added.

You will need to provide your wheels, details, and couplers.  Bachman 78025 couplers work well, or any of this style.
