N scale Union Tank co. X3 classic frame, 8000 gallon, 60 inch dome car kit

The most common tank car made for decades the Union Tank model X3 car. Options for every detail are included to get that realistic variation into your fleet!!  Sick of all your tank cars being the same size? What about the same domes or frames?  The Union Tank company made many variations. Here are the higher production options for your layout.
This kit if for a classic frame with the straight ends in a 8000 gallon capacity and a 60 inch dome.
Offering early and late frame styles with 6500, 8000, and 10000 gallon options with the wider domes you can vary your tank car fleet with ease.
This is a n scale resin kit. It requires assembly, sanding, trimming, fitting, and maybe some creative work to make this car look beautiful.  They are made as close to scale as possible and are quite fragile but still usable for operations.
This kit includes super realistic coupler boxes for those modelers who want photo realism.  However they will limit the operational usage of the car if you choose to use them.
In the last photo you can see the many options. The 6500 has a shorter frame but same diameter as the 8000 the 10000 is same frame length but larger diameter than the 8000 option.  The early frame has the sloped ends while a classic frame has the straight ends. The 60” dome is bigger than the 54” with slightly different spacing to the caps on top.
You will need to provide your wheels and couplers.  Bachman 78502 couplers work well, or any of this style. This car comes as an unpainted, unassembled kit.
Modeled in American N scale (1:160), this kit is true to scale and size.  Due to variations in the industry it may be a little large or small depending what scale your surrounding details are in.
